Bank for the Orphans. We are the Bank for Orphans. Bank for Orphans is a membership global group where we create opportunities to give to people of good will who care for the orphans; to financially impact and change the lives of orphans, one Rwandan orphan at a time. Twenty five years later, many young adult Rwandan orphans are still struggling to overcome the trauma and are subject to poverty because of the aftermath of the genocide which destroyed the biological family; which impacted them psychologically, emotionally, financially and destroyed even their way of thinking. So we created a global family for them. That’s why we are inviting you to come on board, to help us show to the orphans that we care. Our goal and vision and plan is to economically equip Rwandan young adult orphans by providing financial literacy, business skills, entrepreneurship skills so they can create income generating activities to sustain themselves and their loved ones, to better our global communities starting from their own local villages. We call this think global, act local. So that they know that we care.

We are looking for financially amazing human beings to contribute their expertise, their creativity, their resources and their money. Bank for the Orphans is the link between American people who care and the orphans who need their help and their support. So if you care, anywhere you are in the world because this is a global business family we created. If you care for the orphans and then every time you see movement to Rwanda or sometime in April and anytime you learn about Rwanda, about the genocide, you feel pain, you feel sorrow, then come on board. Let all of us put our “never again” in action. This is a way we are putting “never again” in action. Come on aboard, bring your expertise, bring your resources, bring your amazing creativity so we equip orphans, we show them that we care. Our value proposition?  We provide joyful experience to our supporters by creating these wonderful opportunities for them to impact lives of Rwandan orphans and putting “never again” in action. So our supporters can feel joyful that they are making an impact, that they are changing lives. Because I know how helping others helped me big time. When I contribute, I believe in contribution. Every time I contribute, my life excels to the next level. Every time I help somebody, I feel empowered. Yes, I heal myself by helping others; I empower myself by helping others; I create joy by helping others. It’s beautiful! That’s why my organization is called “Why Do I Exist”. I believe my existence is to praise God and help others. What about you? Why do you exist?

Our Business Model

Our business model is storytelling, book publishing, networking, seminars and workshops. Yes, that’s our business model. Last night when I was creating this wonderful brochure, my friend said, “Dr. Claudine, I love you. One thing I love about you, when you think about something, you don’t just talk about it, you do it. You are a doer”. Yes, I take action. Because I am aware of dream killers, I am aware of so-called evil advocate who will speak to you and then will speak negatively about your life and then they will destroy your plan, your vision, your ideas and then you will give up before you start. I am aware of those negatives. So that’s why every time I have an idea, I implement it quickly, fast, quickly before my mind starts to adapt to doubt or before so-called evil advocate destroys my plan. That’s how I need to do it. That’s how we do it. Yes! You don’t allow evil advocate people to sabotage you, to start talking, start looking. How come in the world when you have an idea, people start looking for what is going to be wrong before you even start. I am amazed at human beings, how sometimes they think. Start, and then we will see what is going to be wrong, then you can correct it. But if you sabotage yourself and don’t start, hello, you’re going to live a miserable life.

Let me show you this brochure that I created yesterday. I am proud of myself. I just said, even I predicted it now. This is the brochure. I created it yesterday evening, last night, yes. We will give this brochure to people who care, who care for orphans. Yes, that’s why my friend was saying that this Bank for the Orphans goes beyond being just a bank. The bank is about our goal, vision and plan and value proposition as well as our business model. We use different things, we use art. This is [7:09] ______ a picture of the Kichu Foundation and dancing in Rwanda. You can get it in the music and art competition. By the way, our team in Rwanda became number one in the youth competition in Kigari in Rwanda, the whole country. And then this I my picture of Miss Global Peace speaking on the stage at the Church of Champions in New Jersey where I was giving testimonial, sharing with them about my book and what inspired me to create and write and publish my book. Yes, this is Miss Global Peace speaking on the stage and inspiring the participants of the Church of Champions. Yes, you can see that I am holding my book. I was telling them that whatever dreams, whatever ideas they have inside of them, they can achieve because God is there to provide. So this is a picture of the students from different states in America who came to Columbia University to our International Day of Peace that we organized. You can see we are having a mayor’s reception in the back. He was the co-chair of my program and this was in 2011 by the way. You can see in the background, the banner says “I am a Peacemaker”. So what we are doing is we are using our expertise, our creativity, we are using our experience to take our business of helping orphans to the next level. So when you see me creating a bank for the orphans, it’s not because I just dreamed about it, it is because it is the next step we have to go to. In business, if you don’t grow, you die. That’s how it is. So, this is a picture of the graduates, survivors of the genocide in Rwanda, who graduated from our trauma healing training. We organized trauma healing training in Kigari in collaboration with a local school to equip survivors of genocide to train them to overcome the trauma.

So we give opportunity to the people of good will on a global level to come to Rwanda to practice their expertise, to practice their amazing work and then also to give back to the community and to help. Basically, the Bank for Orphans is under the umbrella of Why Do I Exist. Why Do I Exist is a huge, big non-profit organization which has a mission to help and to empower Rwandan orphans. So, in healing and supporting orphans, we saw that they are in need of money. We saw that they do not get loans from the bank because they don’t have anyone who can guarantee them. We saw the need. We saw the huge need of inspiring orphans to create income generating activities without putting too much pressure on them.  We saw that micro finance, micro loan people, when they are in Rwanda, they give money to the people who can pay back and you have to have a guarantor, someone who will pay back in case you cannot pay. So we saw that the orphans, most of the time, they don’t get money because nobody is there to guarantee them just in case they don’t pay. Most of the time, people who guarantee, they are your relatives, they are your family members, they are your mom, your dad, they are your grandpa, they are your uncle, they are your auntie. In the case of the orphans in Rwanda, they don’t have auntie, they don’t have a mother, they don’t have an uncle, they don’t have a father, they don’t have a grandpa. So who is going to guarantee for them, strangers? I don’t think so. So, that’s why we came up with this Bank for the Orphans. Why? Because I myself survived the genocide in Rwanda, I know what I went through as an orphan girl, a teenager. This is an amazing, wonderful next step project we are doing to better empower and equip economically our orphans.

So, this is an orphanage. We also work with the kids in orphanages where we provide opportunity. We create a platform, a global platform, to give opportunity to people of good will to meet, to visit orphans because we saw there are amazing human beings, people of good will who care for the orphans. Most of the time, they don’t know where to go, so we provide that. We give them opportunity, we guide them; we show them where to go. Basically, we recommend to them where to go

THE STORY BEHIND MY BOOK , WHICH ACTUALLY INSPIRED ME TO WRITE MY AUDIO BOOK : THE POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA : Be Yourself & Change Somebody’s Life Today!

“Now, I can do exercise with my only one arm” Said: REVOCATE a

Rwandan Genocide Orphan Survivor

BY MARIE, ON AUGUST 12TH, 2014

One of the most heart wrenching story I heard from the Trauma Graduate Orphans was from a young lady whose right arm was chopped off by her Killer/Interahamwe during the genocide in Rwanda.

She told me that since 1994, she never receive the opportunity to do any exercise because in school all her professors use to tell her that she can’t do exercise with one arm, therefore she should just seat down and wait until when other students finish to do exercise. I can only imagine her pain during that time and feeling so isolated in society, and was discriminated by her own people for almost 20 years.

She sent me a very emotional thank you message and she said:”Dear Marie Claudine,
Thank you very much for choosing me to be one of the orphans who took the Trauma Training Course. I learned a lot. Most of all, I learned that I can do exercise despite the loss of one of my arm. Suzanne ( the Trainer) showed me care , she showed me how I can do exercise with only one army. I’m so happy now because I can do exercise on my own with one arm. I have started to teach other genocide orphans survivors especial these with disability how to care for themselves.I’m ready to help out the traumatized orphans who most of the time they bring to our local government to get help. . Yes , I will not be able to carry them because I have one arm but at least I will sit down with them, comfort them and share with them some skills and techniques I learned from Trauma Training. One more time, Thank you. ”
