Founder & CEO of Miss Guinea USA

Born in Mauritania

, Fatima Diallo’s family moved to Gambia in 1989. Fatima then still in her early childhood was raised in a strong Guinean cultured family. Her parents Mamadou Cellou Diallo and Hawa Aminatou Diallo who loved their beloved Guinea made sure to instill that same passion they had for their country in each and every one of their children. Fatima started her education in Gambia, excelled among her peers. At the age of nine she got involved in community based volunteering, following her mother’s footstep. At fourteen, while in junior high she modeled at her school talent show and was then inspired to campaign to bring awareness to sexual abuse in Gambia.

At the teenage year of 16 along with school mates, she organized a talent show in her high school, which had never been done before. She was recognize by her peers and community for giving opportunities to her peers and also shedding light on the issues concerning her community ( sexual abuse, rape, force marriage and human rights).

In 2004 her family moved to the US for a better chance at education. Fatima knew what she wanted to do but had not acquired the skills to reach her goal yet. Going to Guinean events in the US now that she was coming of age, made her realize the beauty of the culture she come from; yes, she spoke the language and practiced its religion and customs, but living in Gambia, she never got to witness it in such beautiful ways.

Impressed, and also very aware of the growing scarce of young Africans of her own generation not embracing the African culture, she decided to do something about it.

In 2007, along with friends she not only hosted but participated as a model in an African Runway Show. The success of this show put the spotlight on her; once again she used that opportunity to promote what she had been campaigning for since The Gambia; peace, equality and Africa’s rich culture. In 2008, now as a young adult, she felt she was ready to make her mark and share her love and vision for Guinea.

Fatima’s life mission is to promote education, culture and talent of Guinea, now she found a way to express it to the world. She founded Miss Guinea USA in 2008 and held her first event on November 29, 2008. The show was an instant success, embrace by the vast Guinean and African community; she paved the way for many African of her generation.

Her message:” with the right message, drive and ambition, we can make a difference, because we are the future of our nation”. From the beginning everything she has done was with the right intention for her beloved mother land, may Allah continue to guide her the way he has all this time with the help of her mother, because Fatima Diallo has a lot more to offer. Let’s all give back for a better future.
