MORE ABOUT MISS GABON USA 2017 – 2018
My name is Priscilla Aude Sefu Boguidjogho, I am 21 years old and I am miss Gabon USA 2017-18. I was born and raised in the city of Port-Gentil, which is the economic capital of Gabon. I relocated to the New York in 2013 at the age of 16. I graduated from Collège et Lycée Raponda Walker, with a diploma in biology. I took advantage of my opportunity in America to pursue my undergraduate degree. My first year in this country was based on the learning of the English language, since we speak French back in Gabon. Once I obtained my TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) I was able to register to College of Staten Island and starting my studies in the mathematics. My life goal is to give back to the community by helping others as an immigration attorney. With all the immigration problems transpiring in America I feel my contribution will definitely make a difference. My personality is very passionate so I strongly believe I can and will make a difference. I am now furthering my advance education at Baruch College. My hobbies includes but not limited to perfecting my modelling career (Photo shoots and runway shows), my most recent show was NYFW (New York Fashion Week). I am a fervent Christian and being from a country in need has developed into me a charity spirit that is why whenever I have a chance, I cook and donate wardrobes to the homeless people.

Gabon is a country with a population of nearly 2 millions. Women represent 54.7% of this population, or 1.1 million people. Forty eight percent of these women, or 590,000, are under the age of twenty, and of those 69% have children, meaning that in Gabon there are 407,000 teen mothers. This number is equal to 49% of the female population, or 28.6% of the country’s total population.

As Miss Gabon USA 2017-2018, I wish to speak up for the teen mothers of Gabon. Out of these 407,000 young mothers, almost 100,000 became pregnant as a result of rape. My goal is to make a donation to those teen mothers in Gabon, in order to assist them with layettes and supplies, for their babies and for themselves. No baby in this world should be in need of a layette, and no teen mother should be struggling to feed her offspring and herself. I will be taking a trip to Gabon this upcoming month of August 2018, and I am looking to raise up to 10,000$ for the Gabonese teen mothers, who are financially unable to assist the needs of their children.
