The Kuki Ndiho (translated as “Why do I Exist?”) Foundation helps rebuild the lives of orphans, children and young adults who have been scarred by the tragic 1994 genocide and its aftermath. The foundation creates a unique educational and cultural framework, build individual and social developmental impact and contribute resources, knowledge and support to the recovering communities.
The Kuki Ndiho is dedicated in cultivating the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual healing of those who survived any unforeseen tragic events. The organization produces a vast array of projects in which include creating and managing orphanages, training and educational programs, social services, community centers, art therapy as well as numerous media activism campaigns, films and web sites.
The foundation’s projects incorporate to develope curricula for students around the world about the Rwandan orphans. Moreover, the foundation supports families afflicted with HIV/AIDS, atrocity befalling Africa, promote special bond between mothers and children. Its educational programs range from invaluable foreign language, technology classes, hands-on workshops, adult education to other job training.
Ms. Marie Claudine Mukamabano, President/CEO of Kuki Ndiho – an influential speaker, artist, and human rights advocate – is a survivor of the Rwandan genocide whose sole purpose for her existence is to help Rwandan orphans live to their fullest potential.
The Kuki Ndiho Foundation is seeking for intern/s who are willing to learn about the nonprofit sector as well as to gain research experience. Intern will be working primarily through email and phone with the President/CEO, Ms. Marie Claudine Mukamabano.
Intern responsibilities and duties:
- Help achieve fundraising goals by researching potential foundation, corporate and individual donors.
- Project research that will allow organizational growth and expansion in helping the orphans of Rwanda.
- Accompany Ms. Mukamabano on her speaking and/or performance engagements.
- Other minor duties as needed.
