INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR PEACE ,SEPTEMBER 2019 in Brooklyn, NEW YORK CITY , USA

#Peace
In Honor of UN’s International Day for PEACE,After receiving my INNOVATION AWARD from Journalists and Writers Foundation at UN because of my New Business Service Project ” STORYTELLING FOR FUNDRAISING” , I had a privilege to SPEAK at Kings Borough Community College in Brooklyn,New York City… To share my PEACEFUL Message,AS A GENOCIDE ORPHAN SURVIVOR who refused to be just a Victim But Victorious dispute the fact that my Parents were killed when I was a teenager girl, the time I need them the most, especially my Beautiful and Wonderful Mother who was my Best Friend.
When my Mother was killed in refugee camp, I hated everything….. I mean everything… I even hated the fact I was born Rwandan, I wanted to go somewhere very far, where I will NEVER SEE A RWANDAN, OR SPEAK MY MOTHER TONGUE KINYARWANDA.
I could not understand how , Hutu Killed my Grand Parents, My Uncle, My Untie, My Eldest Sister after raping her and they cut her with machetes, Killed Her, My Sister’s name is NYIRABANYIGINYA BEATHE.
When I was a Teenager Girl living in refugee camp struggling to survive, wondering if My Creator will allow me to make it for The Next Day, I was in shock mindset, Traumatized, I had NO DREAMS, NO BIG THINKING…BUT at-least , I had my Mother by my side. I was thinking that She will survive, While I was still mourning from the Lost of my Closest Family Members, Friends, Cousins, Classmates who were killed during the genocide in Rwanda,
By The Grace of God , I managed to find a Job as Dancer, Singer and Mentor to help Other refugee Children to Cope with Trauma and Stress, We used music, dancing, acting, poetry and Self Expression…
When My Mother was Killed, I LOST EVERYTHING….
I LOST MY JOY …
I LOST MY ABILITY TO LOVE, TO SING, DANCE, …TO BE JOYFUL…. My Heart Shifted from ABUNDANCE JOY to HATE… FULL OF HATE…
My Question was : ” How come nobody is Here at least to Protect My MOTHER ?”
I HATED EVERYTHING………………
TODAY, I am amazed when I see HOW THE MERCY OF GOD SHIFTED MY MINDSET FROM I AM ALONE NO BODY CARE TO I AM GRATEFUL THAT I AM STILL ALIVE…
SO, BLESSED TO HELP OTHERS…
My Heart Shifted from Pain, Sorrow, hate to FORGIVENESS Joyful Lifestyle, to Promote PEACE
to Create PEACEMAKERS

Every-time , I think about How , My God helped me to Fulfill my Heart Desire of Helping Rwandan Orphans , I can’t help BUT DANCING FOR MY CREATOR.

My Creator, helped me To Honor and Keep my Promise of Helping Orphans which I vowed to His Mighty, during the genocide in Rwanda, when I was jumping over the body of people thinking that I was the next to be killed, because you escape the army shooting then you met the Hutu Killers armed with HATE and machetes ready to cut your neck.
There is a time , my Killed picked me and put machetes on my Neck ready to cut it and saying that I am so beautiful to be a Hutu Girl, I am a TUTSI GIRL… Because they don’t have that Kind of Beauty in their ethnic group.
I remember vividly like its was yesterday , when Other Group of Hutu, Told my Killers : YOU STUPID , HUTU PEOPLE , You don’t think that we have a Beautiful Hutu Girl in Our Ethnic Group?
SHE IS THE ONLY , HUTU , BEAUTIFUL GIRL WE EVER HAVE IN OUR TRIBE.
You Kill Her , WE KILL YOU… in-fact,, WE ARE GOING TO SHOOTS ALL OF YOUR BEFORE YOU KILL HER.
They Nock the guns ready to shoot…
So my Killers were afraid to be killed ……….. after killing me ,, so they let me go.. they said: “Let her go… she will meet other Hutu -Killers who will kill and finish her….”
So, we continued to march without knowing where we were going…I didn’t even know which day was that day, how many days , weeks or Months what I remember in my mind I was wondering if I will open my eyes see who is going to cut my neck or if I close my eyes and wait until they cut my neck because to me that WAS IT.
I was speaking inside of my Head: “THIS IS IT,, I AM DYING. Now, Should I close my eyes, wait until they cut my neck? or Should I open my eyes see who is going to cut my neck?”

If, I am speaking today and sharing my Message Of HOPE, PEACE, KINDNESS, FORGIVENESS AND PROSPERITY ITS BECAUSE MY CREATOR HEALED ME.
AND THE POWER OF GOD HELPED ME TO KEEP MOVING FORWARD WITH SPIRIT OF NEVER GIVING UP.
I am forever grateful.
After my Speech , some of the Faculty members and Students Audience came to me and told me how my Story inspired them and How I helped them to ask and answer WHY DO I EXIST ? A QUESTION , THEY NEVER ASKED THEMSELVES BEFORE, THEY MET ME.
WHY DO I EXIST ? is the name of my Peaceful, Charitable Humanitarian Organization which I created back in October 2005 with a Mission to HEAL & EMPOWER RWANDAN ORPHANS , its full name is THE WHY DO I EXIST ? / KUKI NDIHO RWANDA ORPHANS SUPPORT PROJECT
Today, I use WHY DO I EXIST ? TO REMIND MY AUDIENCE TO RE DEFINE THEIR LIFE PURPOSE SO THEY CAN FULFILL THEIR DESTINY.
