First, a quick reminder that this Thursday 7/25 at 6 pm we’re having a Small Biz Law Q&A on Privacy at the Library. No registration required, simply show up. You’ll learn about the legal issues and ramifications surrounding privacy in the digital age and how they specifically impact small businesses. Does your business have a website? Do you do business online? Yep, this workshop will definitely benefit you! And you can ask your related questions to the lawyers who will be able to answer them (barring something that would fall under legal advice, of course…). But if you want to speak one-on-one to a business lawyer, apply for this other event next week.
Second, our friends from the New York Marketing Association (NYMA) are having a super-helpful, all-day workshop on

Description

Join the New York Marketing Association and feature speaker Victor Adefuye for a FULL-DAY interaction workshop. Discover how to Strategically Sell Your Organization and Services to Other Businesses with proven in-demand tactics and practices.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

  • Sales professionals
  • Marketers who provide leads to salespeople
  • Marketers who sell services to other businesses
  • Entrepreneurs who hate sales
  • Small businesses executives

Most of you have the required subject matter or technical expertise, but very few have sales experience. That extends to selling products and services to other businesses, or business to business (B2B).

This lack of experience makes it difficult for marketers to create the tools that salespeople require to grow your agency, or to generate a consistent stream of opportunities to avoid the panic that occurs when client projects start to wind down. Consequently, marketing and sales become siloed, if not outright hostile.

For business owners, a lack of sales exposure and sales fundamental hold you back from developing go-to-market strategy, hiring or training salespeople with the goal of selling to retail customers or other businesses.

For these reasons, it is essential to understand sales basics, especially for selling products or services to other businesses. This workshop will provide exactly that – the grounding needed to sell effectively business to business.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

  • Discuss the most important step in developing your business to business sales plan
  • Understand how to set weekly, monthly and quarterly sales goals for your organization
  • Define the ideal components of a sales conversation that motivates purchase decisions
  • Describe the tactics and messaging that advance business to business sale from the first conversation to the close
