SNEAKER DRIVE

Kuki Ndiho partners with community organizations, schools of all levels, religious and cultural institutions to gather, collect and ship much-needed clothing items to its orphans in Rwanda. Annual Sneaker Drive

Seventh and eighth grader at the Christian Formation Student at St. Vincent Martyr Catholic Church in MADISON, NEW JERSEY are holding a sneaker drive for Rwandan Orphans through the holiday season. Congratulations: Your Project has been Selected as the WSIS( World Summit Information System) Prizes 2019 Champion!

Congratulations! It is with great pleasure to inform you that WHY DO I EXIST ? of the KUKI NDIHO RWANDA ORPHANS SUPPORT PROJECT has been selected as the WSIS Prize 2019 Champion for the Category 17 — AL C10. Ethical dimensions of the Information Society.

We have reached the moment of announcing the finalists of the WSIS Prizes 2019 with more than two million votes cast by WSIS Stakeholders’ community. Out of 1064 nominated ICT success stories from around the world, following a comprehensive review by the Expert Group, of 1140 projects submitted by the WSIS Stakeholders’ community, your project WHY DO I EXIST ? was among those top five most voted in the Category 17 — AL C10. Ethical dimensions of the Information Society, and we would like to congratulate you on this amazing achievement and to share the excitement of promoting this recognition.

Continuing with the last years’ much appreciated practice by the WSIS community, we are pleased to recognize the efforts and great work of WSIS Prizes 2019 runner-ups as WSIS Prizes 2019 Champions during the WSIS Prizes 2019 Ceremony on 9 April in Geneva, and we will use this opportunity to invite you and your delegation to participate in this Ceremony and many other events we have prepared for the promotion of your project.

Please, share with us your social media details in order for our communications team to be able to reach out to your communities. Furthermore, we would like to encourage you to also promote your success with your colleagues, partners and networks – starting today!

As a WSIS Prizes Champion during the WSIS Forum 2019:

  • ·        You will be awarded with a Champion’s certificate from the ITU Secretary-General during the special event dedicated to your achievement, the WSIS Prizes 2019 Ceremony in Geneva, where you are invited to take part and use this opportunity to further promote your project. We will soon share more information with you related to this event.
  • ·         You are also invited to take active participation in the World Café focusing on WSIS Prizes 2019 Winners and Champions . We will soon share more information with you related to this event.
  • ·         WSIS Prize Laureates (2012-2019): For the first time since WSIS Prizes were established in 2012, we are inviting all former winners and champions (the category Champions was introduced in 2016) to establish a special group with a focus on the promotion of awarded projects, WSIS Prizes, and information and communication technologies for development. We will use this opportunity to shape the work-plan of the group and set up roles of members and overall objectives.
  • ·         You are also invited to take active participation in Open-Space Presentations, which will be held throughout the WSIS Forum 2019. You can use this space to present your projects, ideas or research work in an open exhibition environment. The equipment required for your presentation will be provided.
